Ellis identified lead contamination on pavement and soils in the city maintenance yard adjacent to this multi-use recreational facility. The contaminant was traced to the buildings' former use as a military storage bunker. Working quickly, Ellis designed and managed the abatement and demolition of 2 buildings at the site, insuring that all lead-contaminated waste was properly contained, transported and deposited at a licensed hazardous waste landfill. The site is now home to a new animal sheltering facility.
